The Business Intelligence Lead enables fast, reliable visibility into CAHPS & HOS performance by operating the internal intelligence service. This role solves complex business problems and issues by designing and maintaining standardized reporting, metrics, and visualizations at both contract and member levels. The BI Lead ensures that the right signals are visible, accessible, and actionable for survey results, leading indicators, and member risk modeling. By providing daily and weekly dashboards, rapid ad hoc analysis, and alerting on meaningful shifts, the Business Intelligence Lead empowers decision-makers with actionable insights and supports continuous improvement across Stars Analytics. The Business Intelligence Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

The Business Intelligence Lead on the CAHPS & HOS Analytics team is responsible for selecting and leveraging tools, technologies, applications, and practices to collect, integrate, analyze, and present survey and performance data—transforming raw information into actionable insights for internal and official reporting.

This role ensures observability of CAHPS & HOS performance, standardizing metrics, dashboards, and visualizations. The BI Lead advises Stars leadership and other stakeholders to develop strategies focused on survey performance, member experience, and risk modeling, supporting experience-related objectives that impact Star Ratings.

This position exercises independent judgment and decision-making on complex issues related to survey analytics, workflow automation, and rapid ad hoc analysis. The BI Lead works under minimal supervision, exercising independent judgment and decision-making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks.

The role requires analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action to deliver fast, reliable visibility and alerting on meaningful shifts in performance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of technical experience in business intelligence, analytics, or survey data analysis
  • 2 or more years of project leadership experience
  • Advanced experience in dashboard development, reporting automation, and working with big and complex data sets
  • Experience analyzing data to solve a wide variety of business problems and creating data visualizations that drive strategic direction
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and translate requirements between business, project management and technical projects or programs
  • Expertise with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Demonstrated ability to streamline data operations and reduce manual effort through automation
  • Proficiency in verbal/written communication to senior and executive leadership
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field or relevant certifications (e.g., CBIP, Lean Six Sigma)
  • Experience in Medicare, Stars, or healthcare analytics
  • Experience working with CAHPS & HOS or other survey data
  • Advanced in SQL, SAS and other data systems
  • Experience programming in Python
  • Expertise in data mining, forecasting, simulation, and/or predictive modeling
  • Experience with automation tools and technologies to automate workflows, data pipelines, and reporting processes

  • Remote Work Requirements: Must meet specific internet speed requirements (25 Mbps download / 10 Mbps upload).
  • Travel: Occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.
  • Interview Process: Uses HireVue technology.
  • Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
  • Pay Range: $117,600 - $161,700 per year (plus bonus incentive).
