About the Role

We are seeking a talented UI/UX Designer to join our growing team of designers, researchers, and writers. You will support clients in the federal government by designing simple, intuitive, and satisfying products that help them work better and deliver improved services.

Responsibilities

  • Work in alignment with project leadership to support the UX vision and strategy, ensuring it aligns with business objectives.
  • Build empathy with users by consuming research insights and employing participatory design to generate validated UX designs.
  • Ideate to discover and develop designs, solving user experience problems identified by your project team.
  • Collaborate with a team to create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for describing, communicating, and testing proposed user experiences.
  • Review designs with quality assurance and development teams to provide support and answer questions for successful implementation.
  • Clearly communicate the design process and rationale behind decisions to internal and external stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of applied UX design experience in the software industry.
  • Ability to provide and present a portfolio showcasing your design process and deliverables.
  • Must reside in the US, be authorized to work in the US, and perform work within the US.
  • Must have resided in the US for 3 of the last 5 years.
  • Must be eligible for public trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of WCAG 2.0 Level AA / Section 508 compliance is preferred.
  • 10+ years of overall professional experience is preferred.
  • Experience in federal contracting or healthcare IT is preferred.
  • Active or past clearance to work with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services or the US Department of Health and Human Services.

Professional Skills

  • Effectively complete tasks on schedule as part of a broader development team.
  • Participate in an Agile process for rapid learning and iteration on project user experiences.
  • Work within a design system, style guides, content guides, and industry-standard patterns to deliver UX.
  • Create designs that are user-friendly, accessible, and visually appealing.
  • Proficient with creative tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Sketch.
  • Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work successfully with a cross-functional, diverse, and distributed remote development team.

Pay Range

The pay range for this full-time position is $81,499.00 - $167,644.00, determined by factors including relevant experience, skills, certifications, competencies, location, education, and contract provisions.
