Role Overview
The Senior Technical Business Analyst bridges the gap between midstream business operations and software engineering teams. Unlike traditional BAs, this role requires a strong development perspective to translate complex engineering, logistics, and asset data into precise technical requirements. You will map out the physical and data workflows of our midstream business, translate them into actionable code-level requirements, and provide hands-on support during architecture, building, and testing phases.
Compensation & Location
- Pay Rate: Starts at $75.00 hour. W2 or 1099 | no 3rd parties please
- Work Type: Remote / Work from home 1 YEAR CONTRACT
- Onsite Requirement: Mandatory monthly onsite meetings at HQ in the South Houston vicinity.
Key Responsibilities
- Bridge Business & Code: Act as the technical liaison between midstream stakeholders, end-users, and software development teams.
- Architect Requirements: Define, frame, and deliver high-level business requirements alongside detailed functional, non-functional, and technical specifications.
- Model Midstream Systems: Analyze and model "As-Is" vs. "To-Be" structures, mapping relationships between physical midstream assets, data systems, and business rules.
- Support the SDLC: Assist development teams throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring the technical build aligns perfectly with integration requirements.
- Mitigate QA Risks: Support system integration testing, identify deployment risks, and provide QA advice to third-party vendors.
- Mentor Teams: Assist in the professional and technical development of junior team members.
Required Technical Skills
To successfully guide our development teams, you must possess strong foundational knowledge or past hands-on experience in the following stacks:
Web & Backend Development
- Languages & Frameworks: Strong proficiency in C#, ASP.NET MVC, and .NET.
- Modern Frameworks: Experience supporting applications built on .NET Core 2.1 / Angular and .NET 6 / React.
- Front-End: Experience with JavaScript, jQuery, and modern front-end development workflows.
Cloud & Database Management
- Databases: Deep experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
- Cloud Infrastructure: Familiarity with Azure development and cloud-based application deployment workflows.
- DevOps: Solid understanding of source control and collaborative environments using Git.
Mobile Development
- Native Ecosystems: Experience developing or supporting native mobile applications for both iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin).
- Backend Services: Experience integrating mobile front-ends with Firebase services.
Preferred Skills & Technologies
- Containers: Exposure to containerized development environments using Docker Engine.
- Build Tools: Experience using Node.js and front-end build tools like Gulp.
- Tooling: Familiarity with Visual Studio Code (VS Code), .NET SDK v8.0, and DBeaver.
- Analytics: Knowledge of reporting and data analysis tools like Power BI.
- App Stores: Familiarity with app architecture and deployment across Apple App Store and Google Play Store environments.
