Company: Insight Expert Solutions
Position Type: Remote / Virtual, Full-Time
Position Summary
Insight Expert Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Report Writer to assist with the preparation and development of medical-legal reports, including independent medical examinations, designated doctor examinations, required medical examinations, peer reviews, expert witness reports, and life care plans.
The primary responsibility of the Report Writer is to help convert physician-provided opinions, case impressions, and medical reasoning into clear, professional, well-organized, and defensible report language. This includes reviewing prepared report templates, identifying missing or inconsistent information, drafting analysis and rationale sections, and ensuring reports are complete, polished, and ready for physician review.
This is a flexible support role within a growing company. In addition to report writing, the Report Writer may assist with report preparation, administrative tasks, case tracking, marketing content, internal workflow projects, and other operational duties as needed. The Report Writer may support the Senior Virtual Assistant, Report Prepper, and Dr. Britton depending on current case volume, deadlines, and business priorities.
Final medical opinions, causation determinations, maximum medical improvement opinions, impairment ratings, return-to-work opinions, disability opinions, life care plan recommendations, and final report approval remain the responsibility of Dr. Britton.
Primary Responsibilities
The Report Writer will assist with medical-legal report development by:
- Reviewing prepped report templates for completeness, accuracy, formatting, and consistency.
- Identifying missing information, unclear sections, duplicate content, formatting issues, or potential copy/paste errors.
- Drafting report analysis, discussion, rationale, and conclusion sections based on physician-provided opinions.
- Expanding Dr. Brittons opinions into professional, clear, and medically defensible language.
- Ensuring reports answer the specific questions posed by the referral source, attorney, carrier, or requesting party.
- Assisting with sections related to maximum medical improvement, impairment rating, extent of injury, causation, return to work, disability, medical necessity, expert opinions, and life care plan recommendations.
- Incorporating appropriate support from medical records, diagnostic findings, clinical timelines, objective examination findings, and reputable medical resources.
- Helping ensure reports are internally consistent and free of unsupported conclusions.
- Proofreading reports for grammar, spelling, punctuation, formatting, spacing, and professional tone.
- Preparing reports for Dr. Brittons final review and approval.

- Preparing templates for physician review.
- Flagging missing records, unclear information, conflicting dates, or incomplete sections.
The Report Writer may perform these tasks during periods of high case volume, urgent deadlines, staff absence, or when additional support is needed.
