This role is highly detail-oriented and analytical, requiring a strong understanding of registry guidelines, clinical documentation, and abstraction workflows. Laptop and equipment will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Abstract clinical cases for Vascular registries (VQI).
  • Review patient charts within the EHR to identify required data elements based on current registry specifications.
  • Evaluate and validate AI-generated abstraction recommendations and input finalized data into the abstraction workflow.
  • Accurately document data sources and ensure compliance with registry standards and guidelines.
  • Provide clear explanations of abstraction decisions and clinical reasoning to internal product teams to enhance AI performance.
  • Identify inconsistencies or gaps between AI recommendations and registry best practices.
  • Partner with GTM and product teams to provide subject matter expertise and critique clinical presentations.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of hands-on clinical data abstraction experience working in the VQI Registry.
  • Experience working with VQI or vascular registries and interpreting registry data definitions/specifications.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and clinical documentation workflows.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to explain abstraction logic and decision-making.

Nice to Have Skills and Experience

  • Active certification relevant to assigned registries (CPHQ, RHIA, RHIT, or RN with strong clinical background).
  • Experience working across multiple registries (EVAR, Carotid, PAD, SVS Vascular, PVI, VICTR).
  • Previous exposure to AI-assisted workflows or healthcare technology products.
  • Background in quality improvement, data analysis, or clinical informatics.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, tech-enabled healthcare environment.
