Lead Contract Manager / Contracts Manager

Location: Remote (U.S.)

Duration: 12 Month Contract Extensions

Compensation: $65.00 - $80.00/hr

Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.

Skillset / Experience:

The Lead Contract Manager is responsible for leading program-level contract management efforts across large-scale construction and capital improvement initiatives. This role focuses on contract strategy, risk management, deal formation, and full contract lifecycle ownership.

Responsibilities include directing the overall contract management function, including development of contracting strategies, complex deal structuring, contract drafting and negotiation, and contract administration.

  • Partner with business leaders to support high-value capital projects, ensuring effective risk mitigation, cost control, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop and continuously improve deal-to-contract strategies, processes, and procedures to support evolving project delivery models and ensure compliance with internal policies and controls.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align contracting strategies with construction delivery methods such as Lump Sum, GMP, Cost Plus, T&M, Design-Build, Integrated Project Delivery, and EPC.
  • Build and maintain contract templates, clause libraries, and standardized contract review processes while supporting contract lifecycle management tools and structured intake workflows.
  • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and Legal, Risk Management, Governance, and Compliance teams to resolve complex contractual and risk-related issues.
  • Manage full contract lifecycle activities including intake, drafting, redlining, negotiation, execution, and post-execution administration.
  • Drive process improvements across the source-to-pay lifecycle, ensuring efficiency, audit readiness, and policy compliance.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, including suppliers and contractors, to support contract execution and issue resolution.
  • Support program-level initiatives with national or global scope, including budget planning, supplier management, and contract performance tracking.

Required Qualifications:

  • 15 years of experience in contract management, construction law, construction risk management, supply chain, or related fields
  • Experience supporting large-scale construction or capital projects (ideally $1B )
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracting models (GMP, Lump Sum, Cost Plus, T&M, EPC, Design-Build, IPD, NTE)
  • Hands-on experience with contract drafting, redlining, and negotiation of complex agreements
  • Experience working with contract lifecycle management tools and structured workflows
  • Strong communication skills with ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders
  • Experience working cross-functionally with legal, procurement, and business teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or legal background
  • Experience in data center or mission-critical construction environments
  • Experience developing contract playbooks, clause libraries, and process improvements
  • Experience managing compliance requirements and audit readiness
  • Ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and support strategic decision-making
  • Experience leveraging AI tools for contract review, redlining, and comparison
