Job Description

This role provides senior leadership for U.S. domestic tax compliance, requiring sound judgment and hands-on ownership to drive complex tax work from analysis through execution. The role includes executional leadership within a complex U.S. domestic tax compliance and filing environment, including partnerships and other U.S. filings, with close interaction across planning, modeling, and other domestic tax workstreams, ensuring that technical conclusions are translated into accurate, timely, and well controlled delivery. Success in this role requires intellectual curiosity, strong analytical capability, and the discipline to own outcomes end-to-end-from issue identification and analysis through execution and durable closure.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide executional leadership across a complex U.S. domestic tax compliance and filing environment, including driving execution across significant consolidated and deconsolidated returns, partnership filings, and core compliance computations such as fixed assets and credits.
  • Drive compliance execution through effective planning, coordination, and follow through, including oversight of outsourced compliance work, partnering with internal teams and external advisors as needed.
  • Identify, frame, and take ownership of judgment driven U.S. domestic tax issues that arise within or adjacent to the compliance process.
  • Evaluate facts, data, and technical considerations; assess alternatives and tradeoffs; and drive issues to clear, defensible, and executable conclusions.
  • Translate technical decisions into clear execution guidance, ensuring positions are implemented correctly in filings, workpapers, and well documented, audit ready supporting files.
  • Apply strong analytical and problem solving skills to understand drivers of results, identify anomalies, and surface insights that inform decisions and execution.
  • Ensure resolved positions and process improvements are sustained over time, reducing rework and late cycle disruption.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of compliance processes, controls, and documentation to enhance quality, predictability, and efficiency.
  • Experience leading or coordinating U.S. federal tax compliance execution across internal teams and external advisors.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience with U.S. federal income tax reporting and compliance within a large, complex corporate environment, with hands on involvement in U.S. tax compliance and filing execution, including consolidated/deconsolidated entities and partnerships.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to drive complex tax work through ambiguity, exercising sound judgment to reach clear, defensible, and executable outcomes.
  • Strong technical and analytical foundation, with the ability to understand underlying data and computations and translate conclusions into accurate filings and audit ready documentation.
  • Accountability for quality and timeliness; substantive state tax experience a plus.
  • Prior in-house tax experience strongly preferred.
  • CPA or equivalent credential.
