Software Developer III [REMOTE within East or Central TZ]

About the Role

Iteris is seeking a Software Developer III to join our team. You will be responsible for developing NodeJS, JavaScript, web, and database applications. This role involves creating applications that consume data, function as web applications, or provide data access via endpoints/APIs. You will work independently and as part of an agile development team.

What You Will Be Doing

• Lead software development projects.
• Create estimates for software development projects.
• Collaborate with management, team, and customers to identify end-user requirements and specifications.
• Design algorithms and workflows for new software programs and systems.
• Produce efficient and elegant code based on requirements.
• Test and deploy programs and applications.
• Troubleshoot, debug, maintain, and improve existing software.
• Compile and assess user feedback to improve software performance.
• Observe user feedback to recommend improvements to existing software products.
• Develop technical documentation to guide future software development projects.
• Assist with the Software Development Lifecycle, providing mentoring, assistance, and guidance.
• Help respond to proposal requests (RFPs, RFIs, etc.).
• Monitor customer systems and quickly resolve issues as they occur.
• Travel: 2% (Very infrequent, if at all, less than two weeks a year).

What You Need to Be Successful

• Education: Four (4) year accredited technical degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience: 4-7 years of experience with:
  • Building NodeJS server applications.
  • Responsive web design and programming.
  • JavaScript, TypeScript, Sass, Angular.
  • Responsive frameworks such as Bootstrap.
• Databases: Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other SQL databases.
• APIs: Design and implementation of APIs and/or Endpoints.
• Location: Must reside in the Continental USA, preferably in East or Central time zones.
• Data Management: Experience with database schema design, ingesting data, and database access layers.
• Mapping: Experience implementing map-based websites using MapBox, Google Maps, Apple Maps, and/or HERE.
• Mobile Development: Native Mobile iOS and/or Android app development in Swift, Kotlin, and/or Java.
• Languages & Tools:
  • Python scripting language.
  • Git version control system.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS):
  • Linux EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudFront, Amazon Connect, Amazon Lex, Amazon Polly.
• Other Technologies:
  • NGINX, Docker, Ansible, Grafana, Prometheus, Jira, Confluence, Scrum.

Compensation

Iteris anticipates paying a base salary between $109,500 and $121,900 for this role. Actual pay offered may be below or above these amounts, depending on the individual's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
