This exciting opportunity is responsible for providing reliability engineering support for the operations and maintenance of buildings, infrastructure, and equipment assets. You will implement a strategic asset management plan, integrate existing systems, develop analysis methods, and oversee root cause failure analysis (RCFA) to ensure operational reliability.
Position Responsibilities
Asset Management
- Work under the direction of the Engineering Services Reliability & Asset Management platform to deploy strategic asset management plans.
- Integrate data from BAS, automated fault detection, maintenance programs, and capital planning to develop life-cycle analyses.
- Execute site-level Asset Management & Reliability programs to increase system reliability and compliance.
- Conduct periodic audits focused on safety, regulatory compliance, maintenance effectiveness, cost savings, and energy conservation.
Reliability Engineering
- Create and manage preventative maintenance (PM) tasks for continuous improvement and optimization.
- Rank asset criticality using Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) approaches.
- Conduct reliability studies and create risk mitigation strategies for critical assets.
- Investigate new technologies for reliability improvements.
- Perform root cause failure analysis (RCFA) to determine corrective actions and prevent future failures.
Condition-based Maintenance
- Apply knowledge of moving and rotating equipment (pumps, motors, gearboxes, etc.) from an operations and maintenance perspective.
- Utilize predictive maintenance technologies, including vibration analysis, oil analysis, infrared thermography, ultrasound, and motor current analysis.
- Identify and manage continuous improvement systems to resolve chronic "bad actor" equipment.
Workflow Management
- Maintain accurate records within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Develop and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for equipment reliability (e.g., MTBF, planned/unplanned work, cost metrics).
- Collaborate actively with Maintenance and Planning groups.
Capital Asset Renewal & Planning
- Execute multi-discipline facility condition assessments across various locations.
- Prioritize portfolio-wide findings for client capital planning and lifecycle management.
- Support commissioning activities for upgrades, renovations, and construction projects.
Qualifications
- Education: BS in an Engineering discipline (mechanical or electrical preferred).
- Experience: 5 to 10 years of experience implementing RCM, CbM/PdM methods, operating building automation/energy management systems, and asset management.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in building automation systems, automated fault detection, and CMMS tools.
- Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression systems across commercial, critical, or manufacturing facility types.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative approach, systematic work style, and ability to work without direct supervision.
Certifications (Preferred)
- Certified Reliability Leader
- Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional
- Level 2 Thermography, Vibration, or Ultrasound certification
Compensation and Location
- Estimated Compensation: 100,000.00 USD per year.
- Location: Remote - Boston, MA.
