This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Employee Relations Manager based in the United States.

This remote role plays a key part in shaping a fair, consistent, and legally compliant workplace experience across a multi-state portfolio. You will serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and teams, guiding them through complex employee relations matters with clarity and professionalism.

The role is highly investigative in nature, involving the review and resolution of workplace concerns, performance issues, and conduct-related cases. You will conduct thorough and objective investigations, ensuring accurate documentation and well-supported outcomes aligned with policy and employment law. A strong emphasis is placed on coaching managers, helping them improve communication, documentation practices, and performance management approaches.

You will collaborate closely with HR, legal, and business partners to ensure consistent application of standards across regions. This position offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment where attention to detail, sound judgment, and discretion are essential.

Accountabilities

  • Act as the primary Employee Relations contact for an assigned portfolio, advising managers and employees on performance, conduct, attendance, and workplace conflict matters.
  • Conduct timely, objective workplace investigations, document findings clearly, and recommend appropriate resolutions aligned with policy and employment law.
  • Interpret and apply HR policies, employee handbook guidelines, and employment legislation to ensure compliant and consistent decision-making.
  • Coach and support managers on performance management, corrective actions, disciplinary processes, and documentation best practices.
  • Support EEOC-related documentation and position statements in collaboration with senior ER leadership and legal partners.
  • Monitor and triage incoming ER cases, ensuring appropriate escalation and routing of complex or high-risk matters.
  • Identify recurring employee relations trends and contribute insights to improve policies, processes, and training initiatives.

Requirements

  • 4-5 years of progressive HR Generalist or Employee Relations experience, including hands-on workplace investigations.
  • Experience supporting multi-location and multi-state teams in an HR/ER capacity (minimum 2 years preferred).
  • Strong understanding of employment law principles, including EEO, ADA, FMLA, and related regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct structured investigations and deliver clear, unbiased documentation and recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and coach leaders effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple active cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems; SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
