This remote healthcare role offers the opportunity to improve lives by providing personalized nutrition support and medically tailored meal guidance. The Registered Dietician will help individuals access appropriate nutrition services through assessments, care planning, and ongoing program support.
Accountabilities
The Registered Dietician will support nutrition-focused healthcare programs by providing assessments, individualized meal planning, education, and quality assurance. This role requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate care while maintaining high standards of confidentiality and participant support.
- Conduct participant intake processes and determine eligibility for medically tailored nutrition services.
- Perform comprehensive nutrition assessments and develop individualized nutrition plans.
- Review, monitor, and adjust meal and grocery plans to ensure nutritional quality and alignment with participant needs.
- Ensure meal options are nutritious, appropriate, and culturally responsive.
- Plan and facilitate nutrition workshops, educational sessions, and training activities.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers, community organizations, and external partners to support continuity of care.
- Assist with medical referrals and collaborate with care teams as needed.
- Maintain accurate participant records, documentation, and reports across information management systems.
- Follow confidentiality requirements and maintain sensitive health information according to HIPAA standards.
- Apply trauma-informed care and harm reduction principles throughout participant interactions and care processes.
- Maintain organized filing systems and respond to communications in a timely and professional manner.
- Participate in program trainings and complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is a qualified Registered Dietician with strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to supporting individuals through evidence-based nutrition services.
- Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Food and Nutrition, or a related field.
- Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
- Food handler certification required.
- Strong knowledge of nutrition assessment, meal planning, and individualized nutrition care.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally with participants, healthcare providers, and community partners.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- High level of confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Publisher, and Outlook.
- Professional telephone etiquette and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to support a mission-driven environment focused on serving community needs.
- Ability to perform essential physical requirements of the role, including computer use, communication tasks, and occasional lifting of materials up to 25-40 lbs.
