About the Role

The Process Improvement Consultant V plays a crucial role in collaborating with Supply Chain Services-Vendor Risk and Data Office leadership, as well as other business and IT leaders across Kaiser markets. This position is responsible for developing, managing, and overseeing process improvement initiatives from planning through execution and sustainment. You will perform business process analysis and design, utilizing methodologies such as DMAIC, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, and systems thinking. A key aspect of this role involves ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, industry best practices, standards, and benchmarks, while also leading change management activities that require complex data analysis to drive transformational change across processes, systems, and people.

This is a remote position, but requires residency in California (Colorado will also be considered).

Job Summary

  • Lead the delivery, execution, and sustainment of process improvement (PI) engagements, including kaizen events.
  • Act as a lead consultant to stakeholders and process owners to drive process improvements.
  • Develop strategic plans that align organizational objectives, business priorities, and PI initiatives.
  • Champion continuous improvement by staying current with industry best practices, standards, and benchmarks.
  • Lead change management activities related to process improvement and conduct complex data analyses to support these initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Promote Learning and Collaboration: Foster learning in others by sharing information and providing guidance to advance projects. Build relationships with cross-functional stakeholders, provide and solicit feedback, and mentor junior team members. Practice self-leadership, adapt to change, and model team collaboration.
  • Project Leadership: Conduct or oversee business-specific projects by applying deep subject matter expertise and ensuring adherence to procedures and policies. Make effective business decisions through internal and external partnerships, solve complex problems, and escalate critical issues. Develop work plans, coordinate resources, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Engagement Delivery: Lead the delivery, execution, and sustainment of PI engagements (including kaizen) by leveraging advanced methods and tools. Apply data-driven PI principles, Lean/Six Sigma concepts, and problem-solving techniques. Foster high-performing teams, lead the design of process architecture, and present results and recommendations to senior management.
  • Consultation: Serve as a lead consultant to stakeholders and process owners, providing trusted partnership to drive improvements. Lead the development of management systems to sustain changes, foster stakeholder competencies, provide training, and coach senior management to build a continuous improvement culture.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop strategic plans that align organizational objectives, business priorities, and PI initiatives. Define, develop, and evaluate performance metrics. Partner with senior stakeholders to ensure cohesive metrics and manage complex initiatives to deliver measurable results.
  • Advocacy for Improvement: Stay abreast of cutting-edge industry practices, standards, and benchmarks. Present at industry events and lead the enhancement of PI practices, standards, and methods across KP. Champion continuous learning and improvement as a people strategy.
  • Change Management: Lead change management activities by engaging stakeholders to gain support. Partner with senior management and process owners to align initiatives with business objectives. Determine appropriate change management approaches and ensure stakeholders embrace a change mindset.
  • Data Analysis: Perform complex data analyses to drive PI initiatives. Identify appropriate data analysis tools and approaches, define data requirements, conduct advanced analyses, and identify and mitigate risks through data-driven insights.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a leadership role (with or without direct reports).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Health Care/Public Health Administration, Behavioral/Social/Computer Science, Liberal Arts, Mathematics, or a related field AND a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in process improvement or a directly related field.
  • OR a minimum of eleven (11) years of experience in process improvement or a directly related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Four (4) years of experience in sales/sales operations process improvement.
  • Four (4) years of experience in process improvement across two or more disciplines.
