Buyer
Kelly® is seeking a Buyer to work for a premier client in Bothell, WA. This is a 6-month assignment with potential for extension.
Pay Rate: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour based on experience Schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday
About the Role
The Buyer is responsible for ensuring high-quality materials are available at the expected time, in the expected quantities, and at the expected costs. This role involves planning, procurement, and cost reductions for low to medium complexity materials, including off-the-shelf and semi-custom components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning: Utilize updated product requirements forecasts and MRP output to plan component purchases, support manufacturing, and maintain optimal inventory levels. Ensure accuracy of vendor part master and vendor lead time data in the ERP system.
- Purchasing: Obtain quotes and negotiate with suppliers for fair pricing. Enter purchase orders in the ERP system, place orders, and work with suppliers to ensure on-time receipts. Handle company MRO purchasing duties.
- Supply Chain Management: Evaluate supplier reliability, work with suppliers on continuous improvement, and assist in developing new supplier sources. Provide input to the supplier rating system.
- Inventory Management: Provide input for the disposition of inventory during the MRB process. Obtain RMAs from suppliers and assist in preparing materials for return. Provide input regarding excess and obsolete material.
- Receiving: Monitor receiving activity and work with suppliers to ensure the orderly receipt of goods and services. Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure timely flow through QC inspection and appropriate disposition of non-conforming materials.
- Budgetary/Financial: Monitor and report on various financial metrics related to purchasing.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience required.
- 2+ years of Buyer Planner experience, particularly in the manufacture of instrumentation and/or medical devices.
- Knowledge and experience with ERP systems and planning tools.
- Familiarity with Bill of Material structures and component specifications.
- Purchasing skills, including obtaining quotes and negotiations.
- Proficiency in purchase order entry, receiving transactions, and return-to-vendor transactions.
- Inventory management knowledge, including various inventory transactions.
- Familiarity with Accounts Payable transactions and invoice handling.
- Experience working within a rigorous quality system environment (ISO 13485, FDA cGMP/QSR).
- Prior experience in a manufacturing setting and exposure to supply chain concepts.
- Strong collaboration, team-building, and development skills.
- Experience with cost analysis tools and financial concepts.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong MS Office skills.
- Experience with ERP-LX or similar ERP system is preferred.
- APICS certification is preferred.
Work Arrangement
- This is a hybrid working model position. Workplace flexibility and remote working are options after initial training.
