The Position

The Supply Planner is responsible for the development, ownership, and execution oversight of the supply plan for a defined segment of the product portfolio. This role is accountable for weeks of supply (WOS), slow-moving obsolete goods (SMOG), finished goods availability, and influencing landed product cost across a national network of supply and 3PL distribution partners. The Supply Planner owns supply decisions, prioritization, and tradeoff resolution, partnering closely with cross-functional teams to ensure effective execution within planning systems and processes. Through daily activities, the Supply Planner will mitigate upstream supply chain exposure by proactively identifying risks, constraints, and inefficiencies, driving corrective action plans guided by root cause analysis. Strong collaboration with internal and external partners, fact-based decision-making, effective communication, a data and reporting skillset, and the ability to operate effectively in formal planning systems and processes are critical to success.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develop supply plans and forward projections to deliver KAB finished goods inventory targets, ensure product availability, and inform commodities and Tier 2 procurement.
  • Manage supply plan execution and day-to-day performance for select supply partners.
  • Responsible for maintenance and optimization of planning parameters within KAB planning systems.
  • Own supply outcomes (availability, WOS, SMOG, cost, and service tradeoffs) for assigned product portfolios, making fact-based planning decisions aligned with business objectives.
  • Provide prioritization and direction for escalated execution issues, setting resolution strategy and tradeoffs.
  • Proactively identify and communicate upstream supply chain risks, constraints, and inefficiencies; outline and drive corrective action plans based on root cause analysis and fact-based insights.
  • Influence and guide supply chain commercialization initiatives as a subject matter expert, including new site onboarding, capacity expansion, process improvements, product launches, transitions, and discontinuations.
  • Optimize inbound shipments to minimize freight costs and environmental impact.
  • Transactional management of the finished goods Procure to Pay (P2P) cycle.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate management of relevant EDI/API transactions.
  • Operational management, reconciliation, and reporting of purchasing info records.
  • Implement and manage supply strategies to optimize end-to-end supply chain efficiencies.

Experience And Education

  • 3+ years of expertise within the supply chain discipline, CPG experience preferred.
  • 3+ years of functional use of planning systems and methodologies (Master Production Scheduling (MPS) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP)), SAP S/4HANA preferred.
  • 3+ years of functional experience in automated Procure to Pay systems and processes (Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), EDI/API, SAP S/4HANA preferred).
  • Reputable supply chain certification preferred (e.g., APICS).

  • Technical System and Database Acumen: Demonstrated experience and expertise in ERP, MPS, and MRP systems, along with operational understanding of associated system integrations and data flows. Experienced in SAP S/4HANA, and experience in advanced analytics tools including Data Cubes and MS Power BI.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Builds strong relationships with internal teams and external partners. Communicates clearly and proactively to align priorities, resolve issues, and deliver shared objectives. Proactively and intentionally communicates with the ability to appropriately articulate clear and concise messages, both written and verbal, to the circumstance and intended audience.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of role impact to P&L results inclusive of inventory expense, freight, supply chain activity cost drivers, and total cost concept.
  • Results Oriented: Proactive problem-solving and solution recommendations. Identifies opportunities for improvement and consistency across multiple sites and internal operations.
  • Risk Management & Scenario Planning: Anticipates potential supply chain disruptions and evaluates alternative scenarios. Develops and implements mitigation strategies to minimize impact on inventory, cost, and service.
  • Process Improvement & Systems Optimization: Continuously seeks opportunities to enhance planning processes and system performance. Champions best practices and leverages technology to drive efficiency and scalability.
  • Influencing & Change Management: Guides stakeholders through process changes and system upgrades. Uses expertise and persuasive communication to gain buy-in and ensure successful adoption of new initiatives.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work for prolonged periods at a desk, both in a home office and onsite, using a computer and other standard office equipment.
  • Regular use of computer keyboard, mouse, and video conferencing tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and through digital platforms.
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching within the office environment.
  • May occasionally be required to lift or move items up to 15 pounds (e.g., office materials, documents).
  • Visual acuity needed for reviewing documents, spreadsheets, and data on screens.
  • Ability to commute to the office for in-person meetings, training, or other business needs as required.

Work Environment

  • Indoors, a normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, or temperature changes.
  • This role operates in a professional office environment where most work is performed at a desk.

The Location: Hybrid role combining remote work with 2 days per month onsite in White River Junction, VT. Ideal candidates will be located within a 2-3 hour drive of our offices.

The Pay: $68,000 to $89,000 annual salary, commensurate with experience.
