Role Overview
For our client, we are seeking a VP Of AI ML And Data Strategy to join the team of a leader in the Transportation space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will partner with business, technical, and operational stakeholders to build reporting, surface trends, and translate analysis into action. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen data-driven execution and help teams focus on the metrics that matter most within a operationally complex logistics environment.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $277,000 -- $290,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Set multi-year strategy for ML, data, and BI based on customer needs and competitive insights
- Lead the design and scaling of the Data Science, AI, and BI organization
- Establish and maintain high hiring standards for technical roles in the team
- Ensure engineering and analytical standards are upheld across the organization
- Collaborate as a peer with VP-level leaders to steer organizational data priorities
- Oversee the architecture and operation of production ML systems for key operational functions
- Direct the Generative AI strategy as a foundational capability for the company
Qualifications
- 10+ years in data science, machine learning, or data engineering, with 5+ years in a leadership role
- Experience in building or scaling a data, ML, or AI organization, including managing managers
- Strong knowledge of modern ML frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, PyTorch) and enterprise-level data stacks
- Experience with LLM applications and understanding of commercial models like OpenAI and Claude
- B2B SaaS, supply chain, logistics, or e-commerce experience preferred
- Master's degree in a related quantitative field preferred, equivalent experience considered
- Familiarity with AWS cloud infrastructure, including cost and reliability considerations
