Job Summary

  • Position: Risk Manager (Data & Technology Risk)
  • Location: 100% Remote (Must work EST hours)
  • Duration: 12 months (with potential extension)
  • Interview Process: One-hour panel interview plus 45-minute fitment round

Role Overview

  • Act as a Risk Management Professional focusing on data risk and cyber risk within a highly regulated environment (financial services preferred).
  • Serve as a key risk advisor for the FinX program, supporting the replacement of the Enterprise ERP system.
  • Ensure program compliance with Enterprise Capital One (COF) policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with business, technology, compliance, security, and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise the FinX program on adherence to internal policies/standards, emphasizing cyber, technology, and data risk.
  • Oversee test access and data review processes for the FinX program.
  • Lead and collaborate on risk assessments with other Financial Risk Management (FRM) resources.
  • Support migration from PeopleSoft to Workday; work on business process (risk & control) side (no Workday technical experience required).
  • Partner and collaborate with process engineers, risk advisors, project management, SOX, and other expert teams.
  • Own and drive risk management processes after initial onboarding period.
  • Help develop risk assessment metrics as the project progresses.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experience in finance, technology, or data risk is strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of risk management in financial services or highly regulated industries.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and influencing skills at all organizational levels.
  • Proactive, strategic problem solver with the ability to operate independently and as part of cross-functional teams.

Additional Notes

  • Small, collaborative team environment with access to partner groups as needed.
  • First month will be onboarding and learning COF policies/procedures; will take ownership thereafter.
  • Metrics for the role will be developed over time as risk assessments advance.
