Overview
Lennor Metier Consulting is partnering with a leading Japanese steel manufacturing company to hire a Mechanical Engineer based in Pasig City, with opportunities for long-term deployment in Japan.
- Salary Range: ₱30,000 - ₱50,000
- Work Setup: Hybrid upon regularization
- Shift Schedule: Day Shift
- Location: Pasig City / Japan Deployment
The Role
The Mechanical Engineer will support the development, improvement, and expansion of steel plant facilities and machinery for large-scale industrial operations. This role involves participation across the full project lifecycle—from feasibility studies and design coordination to construction support, commissioning, and project completion.
Your Responsibilities
- Support development and improvement projects for steel plant machinery and facilities.
- Participate in feasibility studies, preliminary planning, and execution planning including budgeting and cost estimation.
- Coordinate with design firms, vendors, and contractors during project execution.
- Review and support detailed engineering designs, calculations, and technical documentation.
- Assist in equipment and material requisitions, vendor coordination, and procurement support.
- Monitor construction and installation activities to ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Support pre-commissioning, cold run, hot run, and trial operations of plant facilities.
- Participate in acceptance inspections and project completion activities.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation including completion reports, operational data, and as-built drawings.
- Support basic design work involving machinery, piping, structures, and plant systems.
- Coordinate with Japanese counterparts and project teams to ensure smooth project execution.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5–7 years of experience in a steel manufacturing company or heavy industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Experience handling plant facility development, machinery improvement, or mechanical equipment engineering projects.
- Strong background in industrial or plant engineering operations.
- Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings and 3D models.
- Familiarity with CAD and engineering analysis software is an advantage.
- Experience in project coordination or project management is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Previous or current experience working in Japan is an advantage.
- Nihongo proficiency is an advantage but not required.
- Willingness to undergo Nihongo language training and pass in-house assessments during probationary period.
- Willing to be deployed and work in Japan for long-term assignments based on project requirements.
- Strong adaptability to Japanese work culture and collaborative environments.
- Genuine interest in working within the steel manufacturing industry.
