Position Details
- Type: 1099 Contract
- Location: Hybrid Remote position; Atlanta metro based; 1-3 in-person meetings required per month (Sandy Springs, GA)
- Hours: Part-time 10-25 hours per week (with growth path to full time)
- Compensation: Compensation is expected to range from $60--$100 per hour depending on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated ability to lead operational systems, profitability, and organizational growth.
- Reports To: CEO/Chief Development Officer
Position Overview
Level Workforce is seeking an Operations Manager to serve as the central coordinator, systems leader, and operational backbone of the organization. This is one of the most critical positions within the company, responsible for helping define, refine, and continuously improve the systems, processes, and operational infrastructure that drive growth, profitability, service quality, and client satisfaction.
The Operations Manager will provide operational oversight and coordination across all of Level's core practice groups:
- Marketing & Sales
- Operations
- Workforce Strategy (HR & Recruiting)
- Finance & Accounting
This role is ideal for a highly organized, systems-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and enjoys building structure, accountability, and scalability. The successful candidate will bring experience from a professional services, consulting, staffing, or project-based services environment where utilization, profitability, client success, and operational excellence are critical drivers of performance.
Core Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Define, document, and improve company processes, workflows, and operational standards.
- Create accountability systems that improve execution across the organization.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for greater efficiency.
- Monitor service quality, operational consistency, and client satisfaction.
- Help build scalable systems that support future growth.
Technology, Systems & Automation
- Optimize and manage core business platforms including Microsoft 365, Basecamp, Dropbox, and Clockify.
- Identify opportunities to streamline systems and reduce unnecessary software expenses.
- Evaluate and implement workflow automation and AI-driven solutions.
- Stay current on emerging technologies and best practices in business operations.
- Utilize tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI platforms to improve efficiency, communication, and overall business performance.
Client & Practice Operations
- Coordinate client onboarding, agreements, renewals, and related documentation.
- Collaborate with practice leaders to develop and manage scopes of work.
- Monitor utilization, staffing allocations, budgets, and project profitability.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration across practice groups.
- Support client retention and account growth initiatives.
Staff Development & Resource Planning
- Monitor consultant utilization and organizational capacity.
- Assist with workforce planning and staffing coordination.
- Help identify resource gaps, hiring needs, and development opportunities.
- Support directors in managing performance and workload balancing.
Financial Accountability
The Operations Manager will play a significant role in the financial performance of the business and will work closely with leadership to improve profitability, resource utilization, and client retention.

- Resource allocation and workforce planning
Executive Reporting & Business Performance
- Lead weekly leadership meetings and operational reviews.
- Maintain scorecards, dashboards, and key performance indicators.
- Provide regular reporting and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Elevate issues requiring strategic decision-making.
- Monthly profitability views by client and practice group
Ideal Candidate Profile

Education
Bachelor's degree preferred in:

Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in operations, business management, consulting, professional services, staffing, or a related field.
- Proven experience improving processes, systems, and organizational efficiency.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze operational and financial data to support business decisions.
- Experience working with technology platforms, business systems, and workflow automation tools.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship management skills.
- Comfortable working in a growing, entrepreneurial environment with evolving priorities.
