WHAT WE'RE DOING

At Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin Company, we are at the forefront of aerospace innovation, driving the development and deployment of cutting-edge technology in the field of aviation.

We solve the great problems of our times with innovative technologies that define eras. While no one knows what's going to change the world next, our people are already working on it.

THE WORK

The Hydraulic & Mechanical Flight Controls Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, analysis, and manufacturing of aircraft flight control hardware.

As a key member of our Flight Controls team, you will:

  • Develop & Maintain 3D Solid Models: Build and update models of pushrods, bell cranks, supports, cable systems, servos, hydraulic pumps, valves, filters, reservoirs, and associated plumbing using 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) or CATIA V5 with LCA.
  • Conduct Finite Element Stress Analyses: Perform ANSYS simulations on components and assemblies, applying geometric tolerancing and dimensioning to validate structural integrity.
  • Support Manufacturing Installation: Assist manufacturing teams during component installation, troubleshooting fit and function issues on the shop floor.
  • Generate Technical Documentation: Produce and maintain design documentation, status reports, and installation guides for internal design and cross-functional teams.

Please Note: Citizenship is required as most programs and projects assigned are ITAR restricted.

WHY JOIN US

You will have the opportunity to drive innovation and transformation across our factories, leveraging industry-leading technologies and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to shape the future of manufacturing.

This role offers a unique blend of autonomy, strategic influence, and technical expertise, allowing you to make a lasting impact on our operations and advance your career.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience with mechanical systems design.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic system components (pumps, valves, reservoirs, filters).

Desired Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in 3DX, CATIA V5, LCA, MatrixOne, and ANSYS.
  • Experience with Geometric Tolerancing.
  • Experience with Mechanical Flight Controls Design.

EEO

Lockheed Martin is an equal opportunity employer. Qualified candidates will be considered without regard to legally protected characteristics.

The application window will close in 90 days; applicants are encouraged to apply within 5 - 30 days of the requisition posting date in order to receive optimal consideration.
