Job Overview
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Benefits Verification Technician to support members, providers, and insurance carriers by ensuring accurate insurance verification and prescription claims processing. This is an excellent opportunity for a state-licensed and nationally certified Pharmacy Technician who enjoys problem-solving and working in a collaborative, fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Salary: From $20.50 per hour
- Job Type: Temporary
- Location: Plymouth, MI & North Canton, OH (Hybrid, primarily remote; 1-2 days a month if needed)
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 11:30 AM-8:00 PM; occasional Saturdays (9:00 AM-5:00 PM) and overtime as business needs require
What You'll Do
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits through outbound calls and follow-up communications
- Resolve prescription and claims issues to ensure timely adjudication
- Coordinate with Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) services to support accurate billing
- Assist pharmacists and internal teams with audits and compliance reviews
- Document all correspondence, escalations, and resolutions in accordance with payer and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Active State Pharmacy Technician license (in Michigan or Ohio)
- National certification (PTCB or NHA)
- 1-2 years of pharmacy experience (retail, mail order, specialty, PBM, or managed care)
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with claims adjudication, secondary billing, Medicaid, and discount card processing
