Marriott International, Inc. is seeking candidates for the position of Senior Manager, Technology Product Management UXL-GraphQL (MULTIPLE POSITIONS) in Bethesda, MD.
Duties
- Support technologies that deliver customer, product, and developer experiences for the UXL platform, supporting consumer and contributor enablement for stakeholders (e.g., Digital Channels, Associate Channels, EAPI, Domain API).
- Collaborate with business partners and technical teams to maintain a well-groomed product backlog of features, including refined user stories with solid technical solutions ready for development.
- Manage the product end-to-end, from discovery and user story refinement through to supporting engineering and operations to ensure customer satisfaction goals are met.
- Demonstrate leadership in a highly matrixed environment, managing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Bridge technical and business efforts, bringing a product mindset to API product management.
- Drive the development and implementation of enhancements or new capabilities from conception to launch, managing trade-offs in complexity and timelines.
- Manage and execute the integrated multi-year UXL roadmap to drive adoption, platform performance, and customer experience.
- Support a cross-functional team to champion the benefits of UXL powered by GraphQL technology and GraphQL API products.
- Bridge innovation across emerging and existing digital products and platforms.
- Oversee strategic digital partnerships with external and internal stakeholders.
- Provide clear vision, scope documentation, use cases, and workflows to support development and leverage APIs.
- Document user experience flows to demonstrate how they relate to GraphQL APIs, supporting consumer onboarding and UXL adoption.
- Define new product features and optimizations, incorporating them into the UXL product roadmap.
- Develop new requirements based on platform usage and consumer/contributor needs.
- Monitor the adoption of best practices and contribute to team development through training, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
- Manage day-to-day team activities and serve as the main point of contact for consumer stakeholders.
- Manage the consumer and contributor onboarding process, gather stakeholder feedback, and introduce improvements.
- Monitor UXL intake tickets and manage their lifecycle.
- Measure platform KPIs and report on impact metrics to senior leadership.
- Evangelize UXL and GraphQL API, providing technical expertise to internal and external teams.
- Stay up-to-date with technical trends and apply new knowledge to the role.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field, followed by 6 years of progressively responsible experience in IT application design or development.
Experience must include:
- 6 years of experience with Agile Development methodologies, product development planning, execution, and tools (including JIRA).
- 6 years of experience converting business needs into technology requirements.
- 6 years of experience assessing customer needs, creatively approaching solutions, and influencing appropriate courses of action.
- 6 years of experience explaining product vision, business objectives, technical feasibility, and requirements in presentations to stakeholders.
- 6 years of experience leading shared products or technical platforms.
- 5 years of experience with API technology concepts.
- 4 years of experience delivering results under challenging conditions, complexity, ambiguity, and aggressive timelines.
- 1 year of experience directly or indirectly managing teams.
Additional Information
- Telework: Hybrid position; part-time telecommuting authorized.
- Salary: $150,426 - $180,700 per year.
