The Role
Maven is seeking a Staff Integrations Engineer to own the design, development, and optimization of integrations that connect the enterprise systems powering our distributed, high-growth organization. In this hands-on technical role, you will build reliable, secure, and scalable integrations across SaaS applications, internal tools, identity platforms, and data systems—ensuring that information flows seamlessly and operational processes are automated end-to-end.
You will collaborate closely with Enterprise Technology, Information Technology, Security, Engineering, Data, People, and Finance teams to understand business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver integrations that enhance productivity, reduce manual work, and improve system accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain integrations between enterprise SaaS systems, internal tools, identity platforms, and data services.
- Work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical partners to drive projects, gather requirements, perform system mapping, validate data, and manage stakeholders.
- Develop and own workflows, automation, and orchestration logic to streamline processes such as user lifecycle management, access provisioning, data synchronization, and operational workflows.
- Evaluate integration approaches (API-based, event-driven, middleware, automation platforms, ETL/ELT) and select the right solution based on requirements for reliability, performance, and security.
- Collaborate with IT, Product, and Engineering teams to define technical requirements, validate solution designs, and support high-quality delivery.
- Troubleshoot integration failures, performance bottlenecks, and data inconsistencies, driving root-cause analysis and long-term fixes.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation, including sequence diagrams, data flow diagrams, integration runbooks, and error-handling frameworks.
- Work closely with Security to ensure integrations follow best practices for authentication, authorization, data minimization, and auditability.
- Implement automation frameworks to improve provisioning, configuration management, lifecycle management, and endpoint operations.
- Maintain architectural documentation including system diagrams, data flow models, configuration standards, and API specifications.
- Support incident response and troubleshooting efforts as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues across enterprise systems.
- Manage project lifecycles from discovery to implementation, ensuring deliverables are met.
Qualifications
- 6-10+ years of experience building integrations or automation in enterprise environments, preferably within high-growth SaaS or cloud-native organizations.
- Deep experience with Workato or other integration/automation platforms like Snaplogic or Boomi.
- Deep experience with Okta or other Identity and Access Management products like OneLogic, JumpCloud.
- Experience in other integration platforms such as BetterCloud or Zapier is a plus.
- Solid understanding of enterprise SaaS ecosystems such as Google Workspace, Jamf, Atlassian, Slack.
- Experience working with HRIS/Finance/CRM tools such as ADP and Salesforce.
- Strong proficiency with APIs, webhooks, authentication standards (OAuth, SAML, SCIM), and event-driven or message-based architectures.
- Experience developing integrations using languages such as Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar.
- Strong debugging, testing, and observability skills in production integration environments.
- Experience designing fault-tolerant and scalable automation workflows with clear error handling and monitoring.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A mindset focused on clean architecture, maintainability, and iterative improvement.
