About the Role

Maximus is a trusted federal partner supporting mission-critical programs across national security, defense, and public service delivery. Our work focuses on sustaining, operating, and improving essential government systems and services.

This position is contingent upon contract award and position availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as Lead Automation Tester supporting enterprise systems across development, integration, test, and pre-production environments.
  • Drive improvements to automate test scripts and introduce innovative quality assurance initiatives.
  • Own the test planning discipline, including quality standards, entry/exit criteria, and gatekeeping.
  • Plan, execute, and oversee regression, integration, compatibility, performance, security, and compliance testing.
  • Develop and maintain test plans, cases, results, and reports, ensuring traceability.
  • Lead defect intake, tracking, and management, coordinating retesting and supporting restoration actions.
  • Coordinate with operations, automation, and engineering teams to support test lab environments.

Minimum Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen without dual citizenship (required for federal requirements).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4 years of experience in quality assurance, software/system testing, or test automation in an enterprise IT environment.
  • Proven experience supporting test lab environments (virtual and physical).
  • Strong experience with test automation frameworks and tools.
  • Hands-on expertise in test planning, case development, execution, and reporting.
  • Experience conducting regression, integration, compatibility, and performance testing.
  • Ability to produce and maintain traceability documentation.
  • Strong communication skills for technical and management stakeholders.

Work Environment

This role is hybrid, allowing for remote work, but requires the ability to work onsite at the work location in McLean, VA as required.

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00
  • Compensation is based on various factors including location, education, experience, and internal alignment. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
