Medical Director (Part-Time)

About the Role

Maximus is seeking a Part-Time Medical Director for its State East team. This is a fully remote position requiring up to 29 hours per week, with availability between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm EST, Monday - Friday.

Responsibilities

The Medical Director will be responsible for:

• Conducting quarterly audits of clinical reviews.
• Overseeing physician panels, including review, audit, and staff training.
• Participating in client calls and conducting ad hoc client audits.
• Maintaining clinical alignment and developing clinical workplans.
• Identifying and resolving risks and gaps in clinical processes.
• Exploring new lines of business and growth opportunities.
• Managing the peer review process, evaluating physician quality, and handling client requests and appeals.
• Completing clinical reviews related to denials and level of care across various contracts.
• Providing educational trainings, services, and workshops for client staff.
• Collaborating with IT teams on clinical aspects of systems (questionnaires, algorithms, etc.).
• Overseeing the quality assurance of nurse and physician work product.

Minimum Requirements

• Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
• Active board certification.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role.
• Current knowledge of clinical trends.
• Understanding of Trauma Informed Care.
• Adherence to accreditation standards.
• Licensed in New Jersey (NJ) or willing to obtain licensure within 3 months of employment.
• At least five (5) years of full-time experience providing direct clinical care.
• Ability to work up to 29 hours per week between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm EST, Monday - Friday.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• Peer review experience.
• Experience creating and presenting clinical trainings.
• Auditing experience.
• Licensed in Pennsylvania.
• Previous Medical Director experience.

• Maximus will provide necessary equipment for this position.

Home Office Requirements:

• Internet speed: Minimum 25 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload (50 Mbps download for shared connectivity).
• Connectivity: Via Category 5 or 6 ethernet patch cable to the home router.
• Work Environment: Private, secure work area with an adequate power source.
• Residency: Must currently reside in the Continental US.
• Technology: Must have a smartphone for logging into Maximus systems.
