Must have:
- A master's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, health science, or a related field with at least 1 year of relevant experience
- Alternatively, a bachelor's degree combined with 3 years of professional experience
- Proven experience in applying AI and machine learning in production settings or heavily regulated sectors, particularly health technology
- Proficient in cloud infrastructure and software development tools
- Experience managing large, intricate data sets, ideally within the healthcare sector
- Knowledgeable in AI/ML techniques and frameworks
- Proven track record of collaborating with diverse teams while communicating complex technical ideas to non-technical audiences
- Familiar with best practices in data engineering, data science, AI Engineering, and MLOps
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement comprehensive AI/ML solutions for the Revenue Cycle, focusing on agentic orchestration and predictive ML
- Establish reference architectures, design principles, and governance for AI applications within the Revenue Cycle, collaborating with enterprise architecture and security teams
- Oversee the design of advanced solutions like agentic patient portal in-basket management, integrating multiple technologies
- Build, assess, and launch ML models utilizing Python and contemporary ML libraries within Mayo Clinic's approved cloud environment
- Collaborate with delivery leads and analysts to convert Revenue Cycle opportunities into measurable AI-enhanced solutions
- Set standards for model lifecycle management, monitoring, bias and drift evaluation, and responsible AI practices in accordance with Mayo Clinic policy
- Research and evaluate new AI technologies and frameworks, advising on their integration
- Mentor fellow AI/ML engineers and contribute to the enterprise's AI community of practice
