Overview
We are seeking a smart, assertive, dynamic, and detail-oriented Invention Specifications and Figures Creator to join our innovative design team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming invention concepts into clear, precise technical specifications and compelling visual figures. You may use AI tools such as Adobe Firefly (Line Art / Vector)Canva Text-to-Vector (Magic Studio) for diagrams and charts, among any other efficient tools.
Your creativity and technical expertise will help communicate innovative ideas effectively, supporting patent applications, product development, and marketing initiatives. This paid consulting position starts with an intense 6-weeks of drafting work paid at $100 per week for up to 10 hours/week. After that, the pace will become significantly more flexible, and this offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects in a fast-paced, creative environment.
Duties
- Use engineering knowledge (guided by AI as needed) to further complete patent specification in crisp and clean writing that detail technical features, functionalities, and design elements with clarity and accuracy
- Create detailed figures, diagrams, and illustrations that visually represent invention concepts using digital design tools
- Fill in gaps or holes in disclosures to better convey technical details and translate them into visual formats
- Utilize graphic design software such as Adobe Firefly (Line Art / Vector)Canva Text-to-Vector (Magic Studio) or any other AI supported tools to produce high-quality visuals and layouts
- Bonus if can contribute to claims drafting work and rethinking any supporting figures and specs in order to identify weaknesses, ambiguities, and missing perspectives early
- Ensure all specifications and figures adhere to patent office standards and internal quality guidelines
Qualifications
- A bit of prior experience ideal in patent work or invention specifications
- Otherwise high degree of interest in learning the best practices of patent applications
- Uses AI tools already in highly creative, proficient, and efficient ways in everyday life and school and work.
- Proactive and a self-starter. Value-added and net positive to creation process.
- Obsessive over invention details to fill all gaps and holes, and deeply immerse themselves in the strategic thinking, proactively surface issues and solutions, and contribute in ways that meaningfully extend our innovative concepts.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills to interpret technical concepts visually
- Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
