Modern Health is a fully remote, hyper-growth company. To protect our culture, US-based team members must work at least six hours between 8 am and 5 pm Pacific time each workday.
The Role
We're looking for a Product Designer to join our design team. In this role, you'll own the design process end-to-end, from discovery and UX flows to polished, production-ready solutions, on features that directly impact the mental health journeys of our members.
What You'll Do
- Own the full design process: problem framing, discovery, research, visual design, prototyping, and handoff.
- Partner with product managers to shape requirements and co-develop solutions.
- Design user-centered, accessible experiences grounded in research, data, and clinical context.
- Create detailed design specs addressing edge cases and diverse user paths.
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure accurate implementation.
- Contribute to our design system.
- Participate in design critiques and mentor/be mentored by the team.
- Engage with user research and synthesize insights.
Role Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in product or UX design, ideally in health tech.
- A portfolio demonstrating strong visual design and proficiency across the full product lifecycle.
- Solid foundation in interaction design for native mobile (iOS/Android) and web.
- Proficient in Figma.
- Experience editing photos (e.g., Adobe Photoshop).
- Experience creating vector-based illustrations.
- Ability to connect design work to product strategy.

Compensation depends on qualifications, skills, and experience.
- Zone 1 (SF Bay Area, NYC Metro): $106,600–$125,400 USD
- Zone 2 (Other CA, Seattle, WA): $106,600–$125,400 USD
- Zone 3 (Other NY, WA, DC, Austin, TX, CT, IL, MA, NH, NJ, OR, RI, VT): $95,940–$112,860 USD
- Zone 4 (All other locations): $90,610–$106,590 USD
