Senior Database Administrator / Remote / US

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator for a full-time, remote opportunity based in Montreal. This role focuses on managing and optimizing modern database systems including MySQL and PostgreSQL, along with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform.

This position offers the chance to work on high-scale, high-availability systems supporting global applications. You'll play a key role in performance optimization, automation, and database architecture, while collaborating with engineering teams. Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of DBA experience
• Strong expertise in MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Advanced SQL knowledge (DDL, DML, DCL)
• Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL databases
• AWS or Google Cloud Platform experience
• Linux proficiency
• Experience with performance tuning, replication, and high availability

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience with Terraform, Puppet, or similar tools
• Scripting (Bash or Python)
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix)
• Experience with sharding or partitioning
• Leadership or mentoring experience
