Senior Staff DevOps Engineer / Google Cloud Platform / Remote

A global healthcare technology organization is hiring a Sr. Staff DevOps Engineer for a full-time role focused on large-scale cloud architecture and platform engineering. This position sits within a highly sophisticated environment leveraging Google Cloud Platform, multi-cloud infrastructure, and emerging AI platform capabilities to support critical, real-world applications.

You'll operate as a senior-level individual contributor with strong influence, helping define how cloud and AI platforms are built and scaled across the organization. It's an opportunity to work on modern platform engineering challenges while also shaping the adoption of agentic AI capabilities in a regulated, enterprise setting. The team is looking for someone who can lead through execution-architecting, mentoring, and driving best practices-while staying close to the technology.

Required Skills & Experience

• Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform with familiarity across Azure and AWS
• Strong experience in DevOps and GitOps practices, including GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment tooling
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and modern compute environments including VMs, containers, and serverless platforms
• Proven background in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and configuration tools like Ansible
• Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts such as VPCs, load balancing, and firewall design
• Experience designing and operating scalable, highly available enterprise platforms
• Ability to lead technical direction and mentor engineers across both project and operational work

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience working with AI/ML platforms within Google Cloud Platform such as Vertex AI or similar services
• Familiarity with modern AI architecture patterns including orchestration, RAG, and tool integration concepts
• Experience with platform engineering tools such as ArgoCD, Backstage, or Cloud Deploy
• Exposure to data platforms like BigQuery, Snowflake, MongoDB, or SQL-based systems
• Background working in regulated environments with compliance considerations such as HIPAA or GDPR
