About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Web Application Engineer for a full-time, hybrid position based in Los Alamitos, California. This role involves working two days onsite per week with a global technology and digital publishing organization. This company builds and supports highly scalable, mission-critical web platforms that power content delivery, membership experiences, eCommerce, and digital services used by professionals and organizations worldwide. The technology stack includes WordPress, PHP, React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and cloud-based integrations.

This is a high-impact opportunity to help modernize large-scale enterprise platforms with global reach. The team is looking for a seasoned engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, working at scale, and influencing the future of a growing digital ecosystem. Required Skills & Experience

  • 7-10+ years of experience building and supporting modern, production-grade web applications
  • Strong experience with WordPress or Drupal, including custom PHP development and extensibility
  • Proven experience supporting high-traffic, enterprise-level websites, including eCommerce platforms
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs and third-party services
  • Strong understanding of system design, architectural patterns, and performance optimization
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product, design, and business teams
  • Experience leading or contributing to large technical initiatives or platform-level improvements

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience in digital publishing, membership platforms, events, or nonprofit environments
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices
  • Experience working within complex, large-scale web ecosystems
  • Exposure to modern UI frameworks such as Tailwind CSS
