Job description

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Ansible for RHEL Senior Consultant to support automation initiatives within a Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environment. This remote contract is scoped for 1,000 hours with potential for extension and includes an approximately 8-week onboarding period. The ideal candidate will have strong experience leveraging Ansible to automate infrastructure tasks, including server builds, system configuration, and decommissioning activities, while helping improve operational efficiency and consistency across enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and execute Ansible automation workflows within RHEL environments.
  • Automate server lifecycle management tasks, including provisioning, configuration, and decommissioning activities.
  • Design and enhance Ansible playbooks, roles, and automation processes to improve operational efficiency.
  • Support infrastructure teams by reducing manual processes through automation.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize existing Ansible automation solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to identify opportunities for additional automation.
  • Assist with documentation, knowledge transfer, and best practices for Ansible implementation.
  • Support enterprise Linux environments and automation initiatives throughout the engagement.

Requirements

  • Senior-level experience with Ansible automation in enterprise environments.
  • Strong experience working with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems.
  • Hands-on experience developing and managing Ansible playbooks and automation workflows.
  • Experience automating infrastructure tasks such as server builds, configuration management, and system decommissioning.
  • Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote consulting environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Red Hat certifications (RHCSA, RHCE, or related certifications).
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise or government environments.
  • Familiarity with additional automation, scripting, or DevOps tools.
