The Temporary Program Manager will be instrumental in developing and executing programming for MoveOn's volunteer network. This role focuses on recruiting, engaging, retaining, and inspiring members to take action, creating and facilitating programming and community spaces, and supporting our progressive campaigns. This position is crucial for bolstering our volunteer network infrastructure and supporting our 2026 election program.
Responsibilities:
People Management
- Directly manage the Volunteer Network Coordinator to nurture and expand the internal volunteer network infrastructure.
- Monitor and report on volunteer network health metrics, guiding interventions as needed.
- Identify community gaps and risks, collaborating with the Volunteer Network Director, Coordinator, and Organizing team to address them.
- Ensure members in the volunteer network adhere to community norms and best practices.
Enhance Organizational Capacity Through Community Calls
- Project manage and facilitate MoveOn's monthly community calls, including launching and facilitating cross-organizational project meetings and coordination.
- Project manage and convene Volunteer Network-wide monthly calls.
- Collaborate with the Volunteer Network Director and program teams to identify call topics, develop objectives, create content, and facilitate sessions.
- Work with relevant teams to adapt content across multiple platforms (e.g., Zoom, social media) for broader accessibility.
- Partner with Organizing team members to develop electoral content that informs and empowers action.
- Create and maintain volunteer-facing materials for members and staff.
- Gather and share member feedback with internal stakeholders to inform organizational learning and response.
Nurture the Mobilizer Community
- Develop and implement a re-engagement strategy for the Mobilizer app based on a needs assessment.
- Create a re-engagement strategy and vision for the Mobilizer app community.
- Collaborate with the Program Department to integrate new members into the Mobilizer community following high-engagement moments or activations. Proactively work with Program Department teams to incorporate absorption flows into our election program and during key moments to maximize the conversion of action-takers into Mobilizers.
- Monitor, report on, and propose interventions for the health of the national Mobilizer community.
Job Requirements:
- 2-3 years of experience in designing and implementing equitable and accessible programming, preferably in a non-profit setting.
- A minimum of 1 year of management experience.
- Strong project management skills, with experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives from planning to execution.
- Facilitation experience, including leading large virtual spaces (Zoom calls, webinars, trainings, digital communities) and implementing/facilitating in-person and remote learning experiences.
- Experience conducting needs assessments and translating findings into effective programs, curricula, or resources.
- Outstanding cross-collaboration skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on detail and clarity.
- Experience cultivating and managing vendor relationships.
Reports to: Volunteer Network Director Location: Contiguous United States (Remote) Travel: Occasional travel may be required.
Salary and Benefits:
- Annual Salary: $106,634.15
- Home Office Subsidy: Monthly
- Internet and Phone Subsidy: $2,100 annually
