Nathan James is seeking a Creative Director to own the creative strategy and execution for all video ads, commercials, and static assets. You'll lead storytelling that captures our brand essence: affordable, stylish, minimalist-to-mid-century modern furniture that elevates everyday living. Your work will drive attention, emotional connection, and conversions for our direct-to-consumer audience.

About the role
Since 2016, Nathan James has focused on designing furniture that allows customers to save thousands of dollars while creating their dream home. We built the business through online retail channels and have since shifted our focus to our direct-to-consumer model, owning the end-to-end experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop direct response video and static creative ads that showcase our furniture in lifestyle settings. Content is primarily advertised on Meta with YouTube and CTV on the horizon.
- Test a high volume of assets per month, balancing concept diversity with quality.
- Lead the development and execution of integrated campaigns from creative brief to final asset.
- Use historic ad performance to inform future strategy and iterations.
- Deeply understand and amplify Nathan James' story through compelling narratives.
- Collaborate with the Merchandising team to ensure a seamless customer journey.
- Manage external production partners, including photographers, videographers, editors, agencies, and creators.
- Leverage your existing network of trusted freelancers and agencies to move quickly from concept to final assets.
- Establish and maintain a robust system for all creative asset creation and storage.
- Develop and own a portfolio of repeatable content franchises that build brand recognition over time.

About you
You're a seasoned Creative Director with a proven ability to craft scroll-stopping, high-converting creative for direct-to-consumer brands. You live and breathe visual storytelling, especially for lifestyle and home categories.
- 5 years of experience as a Creative Director (or role equivalent), with a standout portfolio in short-form video and static ads as well as video commercials.
- Strong background in a DTC furniture or home brand doing $100M in annual revenue.
- Expert at leading video production and static shoots, with deep knowledge of social-first trends and direct-response advertising principles.
- You bring an established network of top-tier photographers, videographers, editors, and production partners.
- Data-driven yet creatively fearless: you test, iterate, and optimize relentlessly.
- Proficient in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or Canva.
- Highly organized and can deliver assets on time, on budget, and on brief.
- Able to travel across North America to shoot as needed.
Requirements
- You'll report to the VP of Sales & Marketing.
- Your normal workday must have at least 4 hours overlap with EST timezone.
- This is a remote role.
