The Opportunity

Nest Health sends clinicians into people's homes. We're the primary care provider for entire households. Every visit creates data. Every interaction helps us better understand the household and improve the care we deliver over time. We're hiring a Senior Analytics Engineer to help us strengthen our data foundation and build what's next.

What You'll Own

• dbt project: Own it end to end—documentation, testing, dev/prod separation, and clean schema design.
• Semantic layer: Own metric definitions, data quality standards, and governance processes for self-service analytics.
• Data observability: Monitor pipelines, alert on anomalies, and ensure data integrity.
• Orchestration layer: Evaluate, select, and build out the orchestration strategy as we migrate to AWS.

What You'll Work On

Our stack is Snowflake, dbt, and Python, shifting to AWS. You will support a Data Scientist running production models and work with clinical, operations, and finance stakeholders on metric definitions and data quality.

What You Bring

• Strong dbt fundamentals: You think about testing and documentation as part of the definition of done.
• Snowflake depth: Expertise in schema design, query performance, and governance.
• AWS orientation: Experience or a clear path to managing data engineering in AWS.
• Pipeline orchestration: Experience with tools like Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster.
• Python fluency: Comfortable reading, writing, and debugging.
• Healthcare data literacy: Ability to explain complex healthcare data concepts.
• Interest in AI: Passion for building infrastructure that makes clinical AI possible.
• Stakeholder communication: Ability to translate data insights for non-technical stakeholders.

What This Is Not

• This isn't a dashboard-building role.
• Not a people management role today, though this is an individual contributor role with real ownership.

Experience

• 5 years owning the transformation layer of a modern data stack.
• Production dbt and strong Snowflake governance.
• AWS experience preferred.
• Experience with value-based care operations or Medicaid populations is a plus.
