Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Network Automation Engineer with deep expertise in fiber access technologies and strong Python development skills. The ideal candidate will work directly with network devices, analyze real-time configurations, and develop automation solutions to optimize operations in a telecom access network environment.
100% Remote | Long Term Contract (C2C)
NOTE: vnm, olt, calix, and python are mandatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with access network devices (ONTs and OLTs) to analyze configurations and operational data.
- Develop and implement Python-based automation scripts based on live device insights.
- Troubleshoot and optimize fiber access network performance.
- Interface with central office and customer premises equipment environments.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to improve network efficiency and automation coverage.
- Ensure secure and compliant access to network infrastructure.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- ONT (Optical Network Terminal) infrastructure (primarily in central office environments).
- OLT (Optical Line Terminal) systems at customer or field locations.
- Proven experience in Python programming for automation and scripting.
- Ability to independently access devices, interpret configurations, and develop solutions.
- Familiarity with telecom access network deployments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Nokia and/or Calix network equipment.
- Background working on Verizon-like environments or similar (e.g., VNM-type roles).
- Knowledge of network provisioning, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Self-driven and capable of translating observations into automation solutions.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
