About NOV8TE
NOV8TE is a music technology venture studio building a portfolio of SaaS and AI products for the modern music industry: A&R, publishing, data, and fan behavior. NOV8TE is focused on turning industry pain points into scalable products that can raise venture capital and reach real users. We're at the pre-seed / pre-funding stage, with multiple products already in active development and a clear roadmap toward fundraising.
What We're Hiring For
We are looking for:
- A Founding CTO (or Technical Co‑Founder)
- 1--3 Founding Engineers (Full-Stack / Data / ML)
These are equity-first roles designed for people who want to be true owners in the company rather than just employees. At this stage, we cannot offer cash salaries yet; compensation is in the form of meaningful equity and/or deferred pay that kicks in once we close funding.
Role: Founding CTO
You will own the technical vision and execution across the NOV8TE product portfolio.
You will:
- Lead architecture and implementation across 2--3 core products.
- Make key decisions on stack, infra, security, and data models.
- Build and mentor a small team of founding engineers and contractors.
- Translate business and product requirements into executable technical roadmaps.
- Work directly with the founder on fundraising, technical due diligence, and investor conversations.
Ideal profile:
- 5 years building and shipping production web apps (TypeScript/Node, Python, or similar).
- Strong experience with one or more: ML/AI (especially recommender systems, ranking, or time-series), data engineering, or scalable APIs.
- Comfortable owning infra on platforms like Vercel, Supabase, or similar cloud stacks.
- Prior startup or founding-engineer/CTO experience is a major plus.
- Bonus: Experience with music-tech, streaming APIs (Spotify/TikTok/YouTube), or consumer media products.
Compensation (CTO):
- Equity-only at the start, structured as a significant ownership stake, with standard vesting and a clear cap table.
- Deferred cash compensation to begin once we close our first institutional or significant angel round (terms to be agreed up front).
Role: Founding Engineers (Full‑Stack / Data / ML)
You will help finish and harden the initial versions of our products and keep them running smoothly as we launch, iterate, and raise capital.
You will:
- Ship core features for one or more products from MVP to stable v1.
- Build APIs, frontends, and data pipelines that are clean, testable, and ready for real users.
- Work closely with the founder on product feedback loops, analytics, and growth experiments.
- Contribute to technical decisions, documentation, and lightweight processes.
Ideal profile:
- 3 years of professional experience as a software engineer or data/ML engineer.
- Comfortable with modern web stacks (for example: React/Next.js, Node/TypeScript, Python, Supabase/Postgres, etc.).
- Experience integrating with third-party APIs and building internal tools or dashboards.
- Curious about music, creators, and the intersection of AI and culture.
Compensation (Founding Engineers):
- Equity-first, with grants calibrated to stage and contribution, using a standard vesting schedule.
- Option for deferred cash to begin post-funding for those staying on as core team.
