Overview
Our client is a global professional services firm providing engineering, design, construction, and consulting solutions across infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, energy, water, and government sectors.
As a structural engineering professional, you will be an integral member of the design team, performing structural analysis and design. You will work closely with the Structural Lead, other engineers, and designers to develop design concepts and communicate structural requirements in design documents and models.
We expect a solid foundation in structural engineering fundamentals, knowledge of multiple subject areas, and experience with US building codes, including seismic provisions. This role may involve serving as a Lead Structural Engineer for medium-sized projects or as a Sub-Lead for larger projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural engineering analysis and design with minimal supervision.
- Plan and execute work using independent judgment.
- Apply strong problem-solving skills and demonstrate knowledge of lateral design (wind/seismic).
- Maintain high attention to detail and quality control.
- Manage workload and take ownership of assigned structural scope to meet goals.
- Forecast level of effort and define scope responsibilities.
- Collaborate effectively and provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior staff.
- Drive improvements in workflows, systems, and tools.
Primary Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural emphasis).
- Professional Engineer license (PE / PEng).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering.
- Experience with US building codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC).
- Proficiency in structural analysis software, Navisworks, and Bluebeam.
- Experience designing and analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- MS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Structural Engineer (SE) License.
- Experience in semi-conductor or general industrial facilities.
- Experience leading medium teams.
