Application Analyst | Fully Remote

Optomi, in partnership with a large enterprise organization, is seeking experienced Application Analysts to join their team in a fully remote capacity!

This role sits within an enterprise application portfolio management (APM) and enterprise architecture function, focused on maintaining accurate, complete, and well-governed application inventory data within Planview Enterprise Architecture (PEA). This is not a traditional application support or help desk role. Instead, it is centered around data governance, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring enterprise application information is reliable for risk management, compliance, and technology planning initiatives.

Experience of the right candidate:

  • Experience working with enterprise applications, systems, or technology inventories
  • Strong understanding of application architecture concepts and how enterprise systems interact
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience managing large datasets, spreadsheets, or application-related information
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
  • Experience with application portfolio management, CMDB, enterprise architecture, or IT asset management environments (preferred)
  • Exposure to Planview Enterprise Architecture (PEA) or similar platforms (preferred)
  • Experience supporting governance, risk, compliance, or application lifecycle initiatives (preferred)
  • Familiarity with software deployments, application versioning, and system integrations (preferred)
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams
  • Exposure to Tableau reporting environments

Responsibilities of the right candidate:

  • Maintain and improve application inventory records within Planview Enterprise Architecture (PEA)
  • Identify and resolve gaps in application data, ownership information, and required documentation
  • Ensure application records meet organizational governance standards
  • Support ongoing application inventory accuracy and completeness initiatives
  • Partner with IT application owners, business owners, and department leaders to gather and validate application information
  • Conduct outreach and follow-up communications to obtain missing or incomplete data
  • Facilitate discussions regarding application ownership, system usage, and inventory requirements
  • Assist users with understanding inventory processes and requirements
  • Review spreadsheets, reports, and dashboards to identify data quality issues and missing information
  • Support tracking and reporting of application inventory completeness metrics
  • Assist with enterprise architecture and application governance initiatives
  • Support application lifecycle management and decommissioning efforts as needed
  • Participate in process improvement efforts related to inventory management and data quality
