Role Overview
The Oracle North America Sales Engineering team is seeking a talented professional to drive the adoption of Oracle ExadataDB@Multicloud (deployed on Azure, AWS, and GCP). This is a pre-sale and post-sale technical advisor role providing guidance to customers exploring, test driving, and implementing Oracle DB@Multicloud solutions. We are specifically looking for experienced Oracle Exadata Database Architects to share deep technical implementation guidance on large database workload migrations to cloud.
As a key member of the team, you will:
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them leverage Oracle Cloud Data Platform technologies, including Oracle ExadataDB, Oracle Autonomous DB, Oracle Data Guard, Oracle Autonomous Recovery Service, and Oracle Golden Gate.
- Work alongside Oracle North America's enterprise strategic customers to build solutions on Oracle DB@Multicloud.
- Advise customers during both pre-sale and post-sale cycles on adopting and implementing Oracle DB workloads on Azure, GCP, and/or AWS.
- Design and architect cutting-edge solutions, considering unique customer challenges and opportunities.
- Travel approximately 25% of the time, with 75% work-from-home flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with customers to understand their data journey, including migration, integration, and modernization.
- Design and architect cloud-native data platforms, leveraging OCI services like Exadata, Autonomous Database (AutoDB), and Generative AI (GenAI).
- Provide thought leadership and best practices to help customers optimize their data architecture.
- Conduct technical workshops and presentations to educate customers and partners.
- Provide detailed technical guidance on Oracle ExaDB@Multicloud deployments, including cloud tenancy setup, provisioning, and networking/security configurations.
- Stay informed about competitor offerings (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks) to develop compelling value propositions.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Development, and Support teams to influence feature development.
Qualifications and Skills
- Extensive solution architecture and hands-on implementation experience with Oracle Exadata (on-premise, ExaCC, ExaCS, and/or Oracle Autonomous DB).
- In-depth knowledge of cloud data platform technologies (data warehousing, data lakes, real-time analytics).
- Decade+ experience as an Oracle Database Administrator using RMAN, Data Guard, Transportable Table Spaces, ZDM, and other migration tools.
- Proficiency in data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration.
- Programming skills in Python, SQL, or similar languages.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Industry certifications (Oracle DBA, OCI, AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake, or Databricks) are highly valued.
Preferred Background
- Experience as a hands-on Oracle DB practitioner, technical consultant, or system integrator.
- Experience leading data platform migration projects to cloud environments.
- Locations preferred: NY/NJ/PA/OH/Washington DC Metro/Atlanta/Charlotte NC.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hiring Range: $147,300 to $243,800 per annum.
- Eligible for equity, compensation deferral, and commission (estimated 70/30 pay mix).
