OVERVIEW

At Orion, we are seeking an Epic Clinical Informatics Specialist to facilitate and support the integration of people, processes, clinical information, and technology across inpatient and ambulatory settings.

OPPORTUNITY

6-month contract with extension; Fully Remote (U.S. -- All Time Zones)

SALARY

$115,000 -- $130,000 W2 contract plus benefits

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Bridge the gap between clinicians, operational teams, and IT to align technology with clinical workflows, policies, and strategic organizational goals.
  • Lead and execute basic to moderately complex projects, managing resources, resolving sensitive issues, and regularly updating leadership.
  • Map, analyze, and continuously improve business and clinical workflows to enhance system efficiency, usability, and service delivery.
  • Lead workgroups and recruit clinicians for design sessions, system validation, and future technology needs assessment.
  • Conduct needs analyses and provide expert recommendations to leadership regarding new processes, system enhancements, and tool solutions.
  • Establish daily priorities for assigned workgroups and provide hands-on guidance for non-routine or escalated issues.
  • Participate in developing organizational policies and ensure strict compliance with healthcare laws, regulations, and system standards.
  • Create test scenarios, lead user acceptance testing (UAT), and develop/deliver training materials to ensure high end-user adoption.

KEY EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), including data navigation and interpretation
  • Hands-on experience with Epic EHR systems
  • Knowledge of clinical workflows in both ambulatory and acute care settings
  • Understanding of healthcare data standards and code sets, including: SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD-9/10, CPT/HCPCS, RxNorm, CVX
  • Experience with Epic Signal and Gold Star reporting tools
  • Clinical background or hands-on clinical experience
  • Epic certifications and/or build/analyst experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in clinical informatics, healthcare IT, or related field

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Clinical Informatics, Healthcare, Information Technology, or related field
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered

INTERVIEW PROCESS

  • Quick turnaround: preliminary interview followed by team interview on phone and Google Meets.
  • Typically, one round with the hiring manager, joined by the team (virtual interview), possibly two rounds if necessary.
