Senior Specialist Analytics Engineering (m/w/d)

The Tasks

• The role is responsible for the end-to-end implementation of complex advanced analytics and AI use cases in close collaboration with business departments, IT, and the Data, Analytics, and Data Science team.
• Sophisticated models and algorithms in the areas of Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), Forecasting, and Causal Analysis will be developed and implemented.
• Based on Operations Research and scenario analyses, optimization and decision models for complex issues will be designed and implemented.
• Production-oriented data and analytics pipelines will be developed and continuously improved in operational IT systems using Azure Databricks.
• Ensuring engineering excellence (testability, reusability, performance, and technical documentation) is also part of the area of responsibility.
• Furthermore, the role includes monitoring and technical responsibility for the stable operation of solutions and team enablement.

The Profile

• Successfully completed studies in an IT-related or quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Informatics, Business Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, or comparable).
• Sound practical experience in implementing complex advanced analytics and AI use cases, ideally with a high degree of technical personal responsibility.
• Profound knowledge in at least two of the following areas: Machine Learning, Deep Learning, AI Architectures, Large Language Models (e.g., RAG, Embeddings).
• Solid understanding of software engineering (especially testing, versioning, debugging, CI/CD) and very good knowledge of Python and SQL — including structured and performant implementation.
• Ideally, experience in mathematical optimization (Operations Research), productive deployment of technical solutions, and working with modern data stacks (e.g., Azure Databricks, dbt).
• Strong analytical and structured thinking skills, as well as the ability to communicate complex content in an audience-appropriate manner.
• Teamwork skills, hands-on mentality, and a clear solution orientation.
• Very good German language skills (at least C1 level).

Salary: €90,000 - €105,000 p.a.
