What We're Looking For
- 5 years of personal injury litigation paralegal experience (active litigation stage required)
- Strong knowledge of state, local, and federal court rules
- Experience with e-filing, legal documentation, and litigation management software
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with strong time-management skills
- Genuine empathy for injured clients and a client-first mindset
- Professional demeanor
- Collaborative spirit and desire to mentor teammates
- Willingness to travel for trials
- Ability to work during Mountain Time business hours (Mon--Thu 8 AM - 5 PM, Fri 8 AM - 4 PM)

What You'll Do
As a Litigation Paralegal, you will be instrumental in moving cases forward with precision and compassion. Your organizational expertise and client-focused approach will directly impact client outcomes.

Results / Outcomes
- Attend weekly firm-wide huddle (Mondays at 8:00 AM)
- Attend daily team mini huddles (Tuesdays-Thursdays at 8:00 AM)
- Attend weekly calendar meetings (Fridays at 8:00 AM)
- Enter status comments before weekly Operations Manager and Leads meeting
- Attend biweekly meetings with Team Lead for metrics and goals review
- Draft and file complaints within 30 days of case transfer to LIT
- Send service of process within 15 days of filing complaint
- Accomplish service of process within 30 days of sending
- Ensure scheduling conference requested within 30 days of all defendants filing an answer (unless attorney opts out for cases >$100K)
- Ensure scheduling hearings are set within two months of request
- Calendar all scheduling order items within 5 days of receipt
- Schedule mediations within 60 days of moving case to LDD (Litigation, Discovery, Depositions)
- Provide telephonic client updates every 6 weeks (10 or less outstanding updates)
- Ensure overdue tasks do not exceed 50
Duties / Responsibilities
- Attend Transition to Litigation meetings
- Communicate with adjusters, defense attorneys, and other involved parties
- Update clients with relevant file materials
- Work with legal assistants to e-file and e-serve court pleadings
- Maintain familiarity with state, local, and federal rules
- Post all costs, including expected costs
- Draft and serve subpoenas
- Compose discovery requests, answers, and responses
- Create and maintain discovery indexes
- Review defendant discovery responses and deposition transcripts for follow-up
- Update case analysis within one week of receiving Defendant's discovery answers with policy limits
- Set depositions (request witness fees if necessary)
- Create motion/mediation/arbitration/exhibit binders
- Maintain up-to-date case status and work with case managers/legal assistants on background and asset checks
- Complete attorney assignments in a timely manner
- Draft correspondence, pleadings, and discovery for attorneys
- Save and name all documents in SmartAdvocate per Naming Protocol
- Calendar all case information per calendaring protocol
- Perform backup intake calls per intake protocol
- Collaborate with assigned staff to achieve case resolution
- Post all case information, dates, and litigation details in SmartAdvocate
- Prepare for trial (schedule witness statements, exhibits, UJIs, etc.)
- Attend trial
- Follow and maintain all firm policies and procedures
- Contribute to client satisfaction and firm revenue goals
