Role Description

The Vice President of Project Operations is a full-time, remote leadership role responsible for overseeing the end-to-end execution of complex projects and programs across the organization. This role leads project operations teams, defines standards, and ensures that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with company strategy and client expectations.

The Vice President will design and optimize operational processes, manage resource allocation, and establish performance metrics to drive efficiency and quality. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Supervising project managers.
  • Reviewing project plans and risk registers.
  • Resolving escalated issues.
  • Coordinating with executive leadership on priorities and portfolio decisions.

The role also involves close collaboration with sales, finance, and customer-facing teams to support proposals, monitor profitability, and maintain strong client relationships. This leader will continuously refine project governance, introduce best practices and tools, and foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement across distributed teams.

Qualifications

  • Strong Operations Management experience, with a proven ability to design, implement, and optimize project operations processes and frameworks.
  • Demonstrated P&L Management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and ensuring project and portfolio profitability.
  • Customer Service and client relationship management capabilities, with experience handling escalations and aligning delivery with customer expectations.
  • Strategic Planning skills, including setting long-term operational priorities, defining KPIs, and aligning project portfolios with organizational goals.
  • Advanced Project Management expertise, including managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects and leading project management teams.
  • Extensive leadership experience in a senior operations or project leadership role, preferably in communications, technology, or related industries.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fully remote, cross-functional environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Technology, or a related field; an advanced degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PgMP) are highly beneficial.
