The Job at a Glance
As a Senior Accountant, you will support the Senior Director of Technical Accounting and Parts Town Unlimited Finance team. You'll support the month-end close and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. This role focuses on balance sheet ownership, journal entry preparation and review, and analysis of financial results. You'll help drive process improvement, enhance the quality of financial reporting, and support the preparation of consolidated financial statements in a fun, fast‑paced, collaborative environment!
A Typical Day
- Support the monthly close process, including preparation and posting of journal entries and completion of balance sheet reconciliations
- Record and reconcile debt activity, including borrowings, repayments, and interest expense, ensuring accuracy and alignment with supporting schedules
- Assist with Asset-Based Lending (ABL) reporting, including preparation and analysis of Borrowing Base Certificates (BBC)
- Manage and coordinate the company-wide intercompany reconciliation process, including intercompany AR/AP, cash sweep activity, and intercompany sales (ensuring timely resolution of variances across entities)
- Manage and reconcile various billing processes, including benefits, insurance, and other vendor-related allocations
- Support interim and year-end external audits, including preparation of schedules and responding to auditor requests
- Partner with cross-functional teams (FP&A, Tax, Treasury) to support financial reporting and analysis
To Land This Opportunity
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook (bonus points if you have experience with SAP, OneStream, or other ERP/consolidation tools)
- Close attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
- Proactive self-starter that learns and adapts quickly in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 1 year of relevant accounting experience (CPA or progress toward certification is preferred)
- Quality, high-speed internet connection at home
- All-star communication skills and proficiency in English (both written and verbal)
- Ability to work a schedule of M-F 8:00 AM -- 5:00 PM (CST) with flexibility to adjust to different hours as needed
