About Pearwise
Over 1.7 billion people worldwide live with chronic diseases and dietary restrictions: 95% of which could be prevented with a balanced diet. Pearwise is a platform on a mission to make nutritious eating accessible to everyone through customized, AI-powered recipe generation. Using science-backed research, Pearwise helps patients make food choices that fit both their medical needs and their everyday lives. We're currently serving 70,000 people across 5+ countries, and just getting started.
About the role
Pearwise is looking for a passionate, health-driven student based in Philadelphia to help expand our vision: making reliable and accessible nutrition support easier for patients to find and use.
This is an unpaid early team role for students interested in healthcare, nutrition, marketing, outreach, and building a startup from the ground up. We are looking for someone who can communicate effectively with local healthcare organizations and help us build meaningful partnerships in the Philadelphia area.
Responsibilities
- Reaching out to local healthcare organizations, clinics, student groups, and community health spaces both online and in person
- Collaborating remotely with the Pearwise founders
- Helping serve as the communication link between Pearwise and local partners
- Managing ongoing outreach conversations and partnership opportunities
- Bringing ideas, initiative, and energy as we build something early-stage and patient-centered
Who we're looking for
- A Philadelphia-based student interested in healthcare, nutrition, public health, startups, or community outreach
- Someone who is communicative, independent, and proactive
- Someone who notices problems and takes initiative to start solving them
- Comfortable working remotely with a small team
- Comfortable being honest about challenges, availability, and time constraints
- Able to dedicate around 6--7 hours per week
- Excited to help build something from the ground up and have fun while doing it
This is an unpaid role, but it is a strong opportunity to gain hands-on experience in healthcare outreach, startup building, community partnerships, and patient-centered nutrition work.
