Location: Fully Remote (US Only)

Compensation: $350,000 base + 25% bonus + meaningful equity

About the Opportunity

A market-leading enterprise SaaS company is hiring a Vice President of Applied Science to lead the transformation of its core intelligence platform from heuristic-based systems into ML-powered autonomous decisioning infrastructure. This is not a traditional analytics leadership role. The organization is responsible for building production machine learning systems that directly drive customer-facing business decisions at a global scale across forecasting, pricing, optimization, and intelligent automation workflows.

The company already operates at meaningful enterprise scale with thousands of customers globally and is entering a major AI-driven evolution focused on forecasting, optimization, agentic workflows, and autonomous decision systems. This role sits at the center of that transformation.

What You'll Work On

• Lead the transition from recommendation systems toward increasingly autonomous ML-driven decision systems
• Define the forecasting, pricing, and optimization strategy powering enterprise-scale customer workflows
• Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of production ML systems including deployment, monitoring, retraining, and reliability
• Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Platform leadership to integrate intelligence deeply into the product roadmap
• Build and mentor a high-performing organization of applied scientists, ML engineers, analytics leaders, and technical managers
• Shape the roadmap for next-generation AI capabilities including agentic workflows, optimization systems, and intelligent automation
• Establish technical and scientific standards across experimentation, evaluation, explainability, and production ML operations
• Drive organizational alignment between research, infrastructure, and customer-facing product systems

What They're Looking For

• Ample experience across applied machine learning, optimization, forecasting, or production AI systems
• Proven leadership experience managing applied science or ML organizations in production environments
• Strong background in building systems where ML models directly influence or execute customer-facing decisions
• Deep understanding of forecasting, pricing, optimization, marketplace systems, or large-scale decisioning infrastructure
• Experience operating across the full ML lifecycle from experimentation through production deployment and monitoring
• Ability to lead highly technical teams while influencing product and business strategy at the executive level
• Strong technical depth combined with operational leadership and organizational scaling experience
