About the Role
Join Peraton in advancing the safety, efficiency, and modernization of the National Airspace System (NAS) through the FAA's Brand New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS) contract. We are seeking a talented, self-starting Surveillance Radar Advisor with experience in radar systems (operator or technician) to support the modernization and sustainment of the NAS and FAA surveillance systems.
This position is 100% remote with approximately 75% travel.
Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expertise on radar system integration, operations, and lifecycle sustainment.
- Support FAA surveillance programs with performance analysis, troubleshooting, and modernization planning.
- Observe, capture, and report technical data pertinent to the installation and modernization of FAA radar systems.
- Collaborate with FAA stakeholders, contractors, and engineering teams to align with mission objectives.
- Develop and submit concise technical and status reports throughout each project phase (site survey, pre-install, installation, testing, and acceptance).
- Provide immediate notification to Peraton authority regarding significant risks, issues, or opportunities.
- Oversee site and vendor technicians, maintain situational awareness of installation schedules, and ensure compliance with FAA mandates.
- Monitor updated systems post-installation to ensure optimization through calibrations, alignments, and additional testing.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Education/Experience: 12 years with BS/BA; 10 years with MS/MA; or 16 years with no degree.
- Proven strong self-starter traits.
- Significant hands-on technical experience (e.g., maintenance on radars, radios, or networks).
- Capable of conflict resolution and deconfliction.
- Ability to operate independently under agile conditions with limited oversight.
- Strong critical thinking and adherence to processes.
- Ability to travel 75% (expected rotation: 1 month on, 2 weeks remote).
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to assess large amounts of data and produce detailed technical reports under time constraints.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with radar operations, ATC systems, or Integrated Air and Missile Defense systems.
- Expert use of Microsoft products and business applications.
Target Salary Range
$104,000 - $166,000. Salary is determined by factors including scope, experience, education, skills, geographic location, and contract considerations.
