About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Personal/Executive Assistant for a busy, retired Los Angeles-based principal. The ideal candidate will be a highly proactive, intuitive individual with the ability to anticipate needs while working collaboratively with household staff and vendors. This is a dynamic, hands-on role requiring discretion, flexibility, and a high level of emotional intelligence. Successful candidates will possess a strong work ethic, exceptional attention to detail, a great sense of humor, and polished interpersonal skills. Strong phone presence and the ability to build and maintain vendor relationships are essential. The ideal candidate is tech-savvy, highly organized, and an excellent communicator, both written and verbal. A willingness to "pitch in" and operate as a true partner is critical. This position is based in a dog-friendly home office environment and requires someone who is calm, adaptable, and comfortable working in a close, personal setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex calendar, appointments, and scheduling
  • Oversee correspondence (screen calls/emails; respond as appropriate)
  • Organize and maintain digital and physical filing systems
  • Assist with manuscript/book project organization and materials
  • Conduct research projects as needed
  • Coordinate travel planning and logistics
  • Track and manage medical appointments, providers, and medications
  • Serve as a liaison where appropriate, ensuring organization and follow-through
  • Oversee day-to-day household operations
  • Manage vendor relationships, maintenance, and repairs
  • Coordinate and supervise household staff schedules in partnership with the principal
  • Maintain organization across all household systems
  • Run errands and handle ad hoc requests
  • Assist with social calendar and cultural engagement (events, lectures, etc.)
  • Accompany principal to outings as needed
  • Support expansion of social and cultural network in Los Angeles
  • Provide thoughtful, engaged companionship while maintaining professionalism
  • Assist with relocation or housing-related projects if needed
  • Coordinate transportation (driving, car services, etc.)

Requirements:

  • College degree required (top-tier university a plus)
  • 3-5+ years of experience in a high-level personal or executive assistant role
  • Experience managing household operations and/or staff strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational and administrative skill set (filing, systems, tech fluency)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High emotional intelligence; warm, discreet, and professional
  • Intellectually curious, culturally engaged, and well-read
  • Open-minded, grounded, and adaptable in a dynamic environment
  • Self-starter with the ability to anticipate needs and take initiative
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
  • Must be comfortable working in a home with pets
  • Vaccination required

Schedule:

Full-time with flexibility required

Compensation:

Up to $130K based on experience
