Potbelly Sandwich Shop is seeking a highly analytical and curious finance leader to join our team as a Sr Manager, Marketing Finance. This is a 100% remote position within the United States, with the exception of Alaska, California, and Hawaii.

About the Role:

This role sits at the intersection of Marketing, Finance, and Data, playing a key role in shaping our investment in growth, measuring performance, and scaling the business. You will directly support key Marketing and Digital efforts and have consistent contact with Potbelly's CMO and other members of the Senior Leadership team.

What You Will Do:

• Serve as the primary Finance partner to Marketing and Digital leadership, influencing growth strategy and investment decisions.
• Develop and refine frameworks to evaluate marketing effectiveness (ROI, payback, incrementality).
• Translate marketing and customer data into actionable insights to improve channel performance.
• Lead financial evaluation of campaigns, promotions, and tests.
• Drive pricing and promotional strategy through modeling.
• Partner on test-and-learn initiatives, ensuring rigorous prioritization and measurement.
• Contribute to the annual Marketing budget and monthly forecasts.
• Build long-term strategic plans and business cases for senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
• Enhance financial processes, data visualization, and reporting using Power BI, Planful, and Excel.
• Recruit, coach, and retain top talent in the Finance department.
• Perform ad hoc analysis and participate in project teams.
• Report to the VP of Finance.

What You Will Need:

• Minimum of 7 years of progressive career growth, ideally in a multi-unit, retail, or food business; high growth company and multi-channel experience a plus (supporting marketing/e-commerce).
• Bachelor's degree in Finance.
• Demonstrated leadership, team-building, and coaching skills.
• Proven experience in budgeting/forecasting and financial analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial analysis and reporting tools (Power BI, Planful, or similar). R and/or Python experience is a plus.
• Sense of urgency and focus on results.
• High energy level and intellectual curiosity.
• Excellent problem-solving, project management, and analytical skills.
• Experience with complex statistical analysis and modeling is a big plus.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.
