Job description
Our Fortune 100 client is hiring for a Senior Software Developer in Test to join a high-impact engineering team focused on delivering reliable, secure, and scalable software solutions in a modern event-driven environment. This opportunity is ideal for a senior QA Automation Engineer or SDET with strong experience in test automation, CI/CD integration, API testing, and Kafka and Confluent Platform testing.
The role is open to fully remote but candidates must be willing to work ET hours within the United States.
Essential Skills
- Experience designing and executing test plans and test cases with traceability to requirements
- Strong background in test automation and CI/CD pipeline integration
- Proficiency in software testing methodologies (functional, integration, regression, system)
- Experience with version control (Git) and collaborating in Agile teams
- Understanding of secure testing practices and ability to validate code quality, performance, and reliability
- Ability to quickly learn and apply modern data and event-driven technologies
Plusses
- Experience or familiarity with Kafka, Confluent Platform, or similar event-driven technologies strongly preferred
- Experience testing system integrations, APIs, and data flows across interconnected applications and platforms
- Proficiency in programming/scripting (e.g., Java, Python) for test automation
- Experience testing AI-generated code or automated outputs
- Familiarity with performance/load testing tools and practices
- Experience with cloud platforms and containerization (AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of data validation, schema management (Avro/JSON/Protobuf), and API testing
